IPOB PRESS RELEASE:

NIGERIA GOVERNMENT MUST STOP THE GENOCIDE AGAINST BIAFRANS AND SHOW RESPECT FOR SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE

The massacre, the maiming and forceful displacement of unarmed peaceful people of Biafra on a day we remember the atrocious genocide of the same government is utterly unthinkable, absurd. General Buhari has indeed proven to be an undemocratic hiding under the cloak of democracy to perpetuate ponderous evil deeds on ordinary people. The account of what took place across the Biafra land is condemnable by any average person conscientious person.

It is expedient and expressly essential for the Office of the Directorate of State, Indigenous People of Biafra, to state categorically that the acts so meted out on our kiths and kin are nothing short of an apparently premeditated upscale of provocation and unwarranted extra-judiciary killings of our people – men and women, young as well as the old. Even sparing the pregnant of all this human inhumanity was not the case.

The world needs to take note of the consistently unprofessional conduct of Gen. Mohammadu Buhari and his cohorts especially in the wrong ethnically-oriented killings of our people. In their usual manner and to show how devious these people are, once they commit these outrageous and sinister acts, they are quick to denials while working clandestinely to clean up their tracks, traces and substantial evidence that attest to their less than noble act.

They do not stop at that; they go all out to fabricate all manner of allegations and accuse the Indigenous People of Biafra of being “violent and up in arms”. Their deed certainly cannot be justified, and it leaves many unanswered questions. In fact, all the security personnel involved in this yet genocide will reap back in their coin in no distant time. It is in tandem with both the law of nature and nature of human law because there are consequences for such an unprovoked and atrocious genocide.

Time will surely tell as all of you will not go unpunished or jump bail. Without any shred of doubt whatsoever, Buhari’s order (“the-order-from-the-above”) was carried out to the later

Notwithstanding the commendable civility displayed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to   put the record straight, it is pertinent to know that the Office of the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra, did make a telephone contact as well as send a letter (written directly) to the Commissioner of Police Anambra State. He was detailed of our intention to hold our annual event – The Biafra Remembrance Day in Nkpor until May 30th, 2016. The Police Commissioner, Mr. expressed his satisfaction with the way we approached him and gave us assurances that the Police will behave themselves and that we will not have any issues. Of course, we trusted the words of the Lion. However, the genocidal war openly sponsored and perpetrated by the security agencies directly has shown that the Police Commissioner Anambra State, failed us woefully as the event has pointedly proved that he reneged on his words.  They acted out the script collectively portraying their uncultured behaviours and unconscionable propensity to assault the unarmed people. They harassed and gruesomely murdered innocent citizens without sparing even the most vulnerable like the pregnant women. All was executed to please Buhari and under the guise of the extant Rule of Engagement (RoE) given self-defense as claimed by the 82 Division Army spokesperson.

However, the question remains: what led to the killing of the pregnant woman and some elderly ones? What are the reasons of Gen. Buratai, who faulted the criticism of security agencies in the handling of Monday’s protests by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Onitsha, which resulted in some deaths? Nevertheless, IPOB were not on protest rather they were in the process of marking the Heroes and Heroines Day and the 50thAnniversary of Genocide against Biafrans.

Naturally, similar observance took place in the United Kingdom where Prime Minister Cameron participated in commemorations marking the 100th anniversary of Battle of Jutland where thousands of sailors fought to prevent the domination of a continent & in defence of British values. In the same vein, President Obama performed a related function just about the same time and date but in the United States of America. Therefore, remembrance of fallen heroes is an acceptable rite in any civil and responsible society or country.

Therefore, from the Nigeria Army, Police, DSS to other sister security agencies, what happened did happen as a sign of things to come. Very soon, each and every of these armed organisations, individually and collectively, will have to pay restitution, and when it did occur, each one will answer to all these extra-judiciary murders going on in the South-East and South-South. Not only that these security agents unlawfully killed unarmed people of Biafra. They hijack even the dead bodies of IPOB members from various hospitals where they are receiving treatment. In Crown Hospital, for instance, the soldiers threatened to set the building ablaze for reasons best known to these agents of darkness.

Events have remarkedly exposed Gen. Buhari’s reign as a regime of terror and change – far from “change” he dangled in the face of people before the election. Moreover, his style, demeanour and disposition depict the difference between a real civilian Democrat and a military born-again Democrat. To this end, We call on the Gen. Buhari as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces to immediately without delay pull out these soldiers from Biafra land.

Moreover, where there is a need to police the community, we expect nothing short of the transparent application of the rule of law and deployment of well-trained officers with conscionable standards.

Indigenous People of Biafra will do everything within her powers to seek justice for our population now and shortly. No amount of intimidation will make us give up on this issue. We are deeply pained by what happened especially for killing over hundreds of our members on May 30th and 31st 2016, without any reasonable justification.

We commiserate with their immediate family and their loved ones. However, our resolve remains resolute. We are very responsible and wish to assure everyone that time and eventual turn of event will exonerate us as due diligent and careful Indigenous body under the Leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu whom the same government of Buhari is unconstitutionally being detained and denied his fundamental human rights.

This Monday, June 6 to Friday, June 10, Biafrans and friends all over the world will commence another round of phone campaign to officials of United States of America (USA); European Union (EU); and United Nations (UN).

Any moment from now, the Nigerian Army will declare a dusk to dawn curfew in Onitsha, Anambra State. They will be doing this to enable them dispose of the bodies of Biafrans they killed during the last Biafra Fallen Heroes Remembrance Day rally, held on Monday, May 30, 2016.
The Army is already preparing grounds to make the rally effective by brutalizing the people in the streets of Onitsha, with the hope of striking fear into them, which will make them obey the curfew.
This current situation in Onitsha is to form part of the message in the phone campaign to the US, EU and UN officials. Biafrans and friends of Biafra all over the world are expected to be part of this campaign. Everyone is to call and declare to them the plight of Biafrans and why they should help to save the souls of Biafrans (SOS).

Press Release

THE RETIRING & TIRED IGP SOLOMON ARASE  AND HIS UNFOUNDED ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA (IPOB)

On May 31 2016, Mr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase (Police Service Number: AP16474 and born on June 21, 1956), who will retire from the Nigeria Police on the 21st of June 2016, made unfounded allegations against the peace-loving and law-abiding Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. According to the Vanguard Newspaper of May 31, 2016 and credited to this man from Edo state who allegedly have two Masters Degrees including one in Law: “Following the manifestation of the disposition of the armed Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) activists to undertake premeditated attacks on Police officers engage in operations aimed at restoring public order in States in the South-East and South-South geopolitical zone of the country, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, fdc, NPM has directed the Assistant Inspectors General of Police and the Commissioners of Police in the affected area to disarm members of the group operating firearms immediately.“

First, it is appalling that someone with this level of education cannot differentiate between “Indigenous“ and “Independent“ or can he attribute this stupid error to the printer’s devil? It is laughable that this retiring “quota system-based“ IGP is alleging that IPOB members were armed and that we undertook premeditated attacks on Police Officers. I hope Mr. Solomon Arase is aware that there is a case of genocide already hanging on his head at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague—Netherlands and it will worsen his case with this spewing of lies against IPOB. How can the Police disarm people who are not armed in the first place? By the way, did the police disarm Buhari’s killer squads who go by the name Fulani Herdsmen? How come you never issued any press statement when Buhari’s armed gang called Fulani Herdsmen massacred thousands of Biafrans in Agatu, Nimbo, Aba, and other areas in Biafraland?

This murderous and worst-performing IGP went further to state that: “the targeted attacks on Police personnel, who have been performing their statutory functions in the most professional and civil manner since the latest resurgence disorder, portrays the IPOB activists who are orchestrating the insurrection as having crossed the threshold in their misguided attempt to test the common will of the nation.“
Can this decrepit and tired IGP provide any proof that Biafrans attacked police personnel and at what point in time did this so-called “resurgence disorder“ come into existence? Does this supposedly educated man know the meaning of insurrection or is he throwing out words to see which of them may stick on IPOB? Probably he is trying to make the job easier for Buhari’s Department of State Services (DSS) who have been hopelessly looking for the “smokine gun“ with which they will convince the trial Judge, Hon John Tsoho, that IPOB is a violent organization so that the Judge will uphold charge #2 in the case against the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

This grossly incompetent and ICC prison-bound IGP also stated thus: “IGP Arase, while condemning the killing by members of IPOB, also directed the arrest of any member of the group found in possession of firearm and bring him/her to deserved justice, while all IPOB activists arrested in connection with the killing of the Policemen should be charged to court for murder.“

How many of Buhari’s Fulani Herdsmen who massacred men, women, and children in Biafraland have the police arrested? So are you always blind to the fact that the so-called Fulani herdsmen are moving freely with AK-47 assault rifles? Why are you not arresting them or are they a special breed of Nigerians who are above the law? Why are you turning around this case of murder against your policemen to make it look like it was the unarmed Biafrans that were doing the killings? Are you making this press statement to cover your tracks and that of Col. Issah Abdullahi? It will interest Mr. Solomon Arase to know that the Head of Directorate of State of IPOB discussed the upcoming May 30th Heroes‘ Remembrance Day with the Commissioner of Police (CP) in Anambra, Hosea Karma, and then followed it up with a letter which is attached to this press release.

It is a shame that Solomon Arase is displaying crass incompetence and ignorance by lying through his teeth with concoctions that IPOB members were armed and that they attacked Nigerian policemen. Perhaps he would have saved himself this embarrassment by conducting thorough investigation and checking with the CP in Anambra state. Now the entire world has seen through his lies and he is complicating and deepening his indictment, conviction, and sentencing at the ICC with these latest lies from the pit of hell.

Mr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase, you are aware of the menace of Boko Haram, the serial killings of Biafrans by Buhari’s killer squad known as Fulani Herdsmen, and the extra-judicial killings of Biafrans by Nigerian security outfits, yet  you have failed to issue a single press statement on them. But you shamefully issued tissues of lies which you called press statement even after your policemen and Nigerian soldiers killed unarmed Biafrans some of them in their sleep inside a church as they prepare to remember their fallen heroes and some of these fallen heroes were similarly killed by Buhari in 1968 at Owerri.

Mr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase, as you retire on June 21, 2016, be it known to you that you will have no rest until you get to your final destination which is ICC prison in the Hague. You can tell all the lies in the world and try to manufacture evidence for your colleagues in the DSS so that they can use it against the leader IPOB but the incontrovertible fact is that nobody can stop the restoration of the nation of Biafra. The restoration of the nation of Biafra is an ideology and no human being born of a woman has ever defeated or exterminated an ideology. For those of you who participate in the wanton killing of Biafrans, there shall be consequences and the boundary of these consequences are limitless and can include members of your family both immediate and extended. No one takes a Biafran life and gets away scot-free.

Signed

A group of soldiers have invaded a Catholic Church in Nkpor, near Onitsha, Anambra State using lethal force to disperse worshippers.
The lethal invasion reportedly took place in the early hours of Monday, May 30, 2016 as Catholic faithfuls were preparing to take part in morning mass.
The mission of the soldiers is yet unknown,” News Expressan online newspaper which first reported the story, says.
Locals say that several people were shot and killed in the gestapo style operation.
A human rights activist who spoke with The Trent from Onitsha confirmed the incident and says efforts are being made to obtain the details of this shocking violation of the fundamental human rights to worship. He confirmed to our reporter that 10 people were killed in the rampage which spread out from the church.
A correspondent for News Express confirms that 2 people were killed in the Catholic Church premises.
Messages to the Nigerian Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman from The Trent have not been replied.
This is a developing story and is being updated as information comes in.

The Indigenous People of Biafra,(IPOB) has described its self-rule agitation through the proclamation of the Biafra nation as transcending the interest of the Igbo-speaking area of the country. The group stressed that its agitation for self-rule was a mission which transcends the Igbo-speaking people occupying the five eastern states that formed the area covered by the Biafra nation.
According to the group, Biafra spreads from the Itsekiri Land to the boundary of the South-Western states to Bakassi in the eastern boundary with the Cameroun.

In a press statement by spokesmen of the group Mr. Emma Mmezu and Dr. Clifford Iroanya, said “Biafra also stretched from Idoma and Igala lands in the Middle Belt which share boundary with Northern Nigeria to the Bight of Biafra which is the South of the beautiful Island of Bonny.
“In the present-day contraption called Nigeria the Biafra nation consists of states: Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, and Rivers.
“Biafra also include Igbanke in Edo State, Igala in Kogi State, and Idoma in Benue State. The footprints of Biafra listed above show that this great nation is not populated by only the Igbo-speaking people. It is also important to note that the last head of state and commander-in-chief of Biafra was not from the Igbo-speaking area of Biafra land.

The group stressed that its statement clarified that although Biafrans speak different languages, they have one destiny.
“Biafra is a nation where different languages are spoken but irrespective of the varying languages, the people have a common value system, four market days, and a unique traditional clothing (two-piece wrapper) for every Biafran woman. It is instructive to note that Igbo is just one of the languages in Biafraland.

Even the Igbo language has different dialects as someone travels from one community to the other or from one state to another state. “The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is using this press statement to advise people who speak or write out of ignorance on the history and geography of the nation of Biafra to desist from doing so’’, the group said.
